A well-known profession nowadays is YouTuber or a person that makes YouTube videos for a living. Usually being a Youtuber is seen as a way of making easy money, but why do lots and lots of people try it and cannot get famous? Here are some main mistakes and tips for your channel to grow:
- Be creative
Expose your ideas, make unique content. This makes people interested in your ideas. Also copying another Youtuber in the start will be kind of dull as they probably are quite popular and there are thousands of videos with the same idea. If you think the idea is worth trying, make it the more original you can, and make sure you mention the creator of the challenge.
- Do not put ads when you've just started
Ads are shunned by YouTube users. Viewers are not interested in seeing companies trying to sell, principally when most of them barely know you. Their impression is that you just want money, nothing more. As you haven't established a fanbase, a bad impression is to be avoided. People need to know you and what your channel offers before deciding if you're actually worth their time.
- Be yourself
Again, what people seek is something unusual in a good way. They seek something different than they are used to, and as we know, people are all one-of-a-kind. So show all your uniqueness, how you differ from all other Youtubers, which will highlight your channel and give identity to your fans, something they will only relate to you.
- Video Length
In the start of your channel, the intent is to make people know you. For that to happen faster, make short videos and make lots of them, so YouTube's users can promptly know you, and know who you are in various aspects.
- Collaborations
Making a video with another Youtuber is not only a way to get into the YouTube community or a way to make friends, but it also has the purpose to make you known by another type of public. A video like this allows you to show people yet another aspect of who you are.
- Do your best!
Effort and dedication are visible through the screen. Viewers see if you made the best you could, and if you did, they'll probably like it. Doing your best is also a matter of self-achievement, and will motivate you to do #9.
- Interact with viewers
Viewers are the ones who give you support on YouTube. Most of them are worth interacting with, thus, you can discover what they like about you and what you can improve on your videos.
For example, a viewer may comment, "I love your acting skills ♡ ♡ ♡ !!! But your video quality isn't good at all", then you'll know one good point in your videos – acting –, and a bad one – video quality – which you'll look forward to improve.
- Have a regular schedule
The more experience you got, the better you are. Having a schedule will help you practice filming, editing, and let you unleash your creativity. This is also a major attractive for YouTube users, as they are generally bored or looking for entertainment.
- Persist!
An YouTube career has ups and downs, and to build one takes time. If you want to become a successful Youtuber, you have to endure harsh critiques, bad reactions, view/subscribers drops, and a lot more. At the same time, you'll be able to meet awesome people, make original stuff, have new experiences. Perhaps YouTube is even a pathway to start a career that better fits you. So if you feel like it, pursue your dream and be an exemplary YouTuber.
10. Do what you like.
In the end, YouTube is more an experience than a job, as you can discover a lot of things about yourself and have fun meeting new people. Also, the most important aspect of working as an Youtuber (actually, any job) is to be happy and enjoy what you're doing, so don't worry if you find out YouTube isn't your thing. Life goes on, and there is always new opportunities.
