YouTube is a place where anyone can post, share, comment and interact. With the rising popularity of this social network, a word that became very common in the vocabulary of many teenagers is "YouTuber"; which, by the Oxford dictionaries, is described as: "A frequent user of the video-sharing website YouTube, especially someone who produces and appears in videos on the site". Anyone can be a YouTuber, but some people manage to excel in this social media and have YouTube be the first step of outstanding careers. Many teenage actresses and actors nowadays have started as YouTubers and are now joining in films and TV shows.

Meg deAngelis, a 20 year old Canadian girl, is one major example of how YouTube can impact the life of teenagers. Starting out her channel in 2008, as she was barely 13 years old, never would she have pictured that, someday, she would reach 4.6 million subscribers, as she currently has. Her channel is about her life, her passion, her problems and has as its main goal to help other young girls with their issues. She talks about acceptance, shares her knowledge and became known for being "relatable" to.  With the growing subscribers in her channel, this girl stood out into the YouTube world and, with that, received invitations to work and collaborate with other famous Youtubers, such as being part of one major Collaboration channel called Awesomeness TV. This channel brings together the most famous YouTubers for interviews,  beauty tips, comedy videos and especially the called YouTube series. These are as TV series with shorter episodes and posted on YouTube. Meg's acting career began with playing the main role in one of these Youtube series, called Royal Crush.

In the sequel of Royal Crush, the character Meg played was called Dezi, a teenage girl who went to a cruise with her family and ended up meeting the "love of her life". It was such a success, with over 4.3 million views that they recorded season 2, launched in September 2015, also achieving the right expectations of views: over 3.9 billion. After her acting career was launched in YouTube, offers for her first movie appeared. Produced by Relatively Digital Studios, the first film Meg participated is called Summer Forever, a story about three girls who make the best out of their last weekend together before getting to separate colleges. Even though not one of the main characters, Meg states that it was an absolute honor to be with such talented actors and actresses.

Other than Summer Forever, Meg has, in the past years, worked in: “The Giant King”, the upcoming Dreamworks release “Trolls”, with stars like Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, and her most recent film is called "Dance Camp". In this story, produced by Awesomeness TV films, she stars as a main character alongside the Vine Celeb, Jake Paul.

Meg Deangelis is just one out of many YouTubers that are examples of extraordinary things can youtube can bring to you as a person and to future carees in your life. As seen in the evidence above mentioned, it is clear that YouTubers can use their channels to develop any career they wish to have, like Meg Deangelis, entering the acting world due to her teenage YouTube vlogs.
