As you all know, YouTube is filled with funny videos such as this one:
Which can be considered comedy, but not a very refined type.
However, besides this type of comedy, there are a lot of comedians and comedy TV channels that promote their work on YouTube. Here are some of the people who share their work on YouTube:
Rafinha Bastos is a Brazilian stand-up comedian who has a YouTube channel in which he posts his stand up show and some funny videos that he produces.
The guys from the Smosh channel are also comedians, however, their work is limited to YouTube.
There is also piracy involved in the relationship between comedy and YouTube. One huge example is the stand-up comedy shows that are posted on YouTube by random people and not by the artist who performed in the spectacle. In which way the artist will receive no money for his/her performance, but the person who posted it will receive this money.
Good article, maybe some more info about the correlation of YouTube and Comedy would be appropriate. By the way, Smosh is awesome (Well, that is what I thought in 6th grade).
